Corporate Communion St Saviours, St Albans
April 12th 2010 8pm
The Venue for this event was St Saviours Church St Albans.
The Members were asked to arrive at 7:30pm in time to robe ready to start at 8pm. 17 Vergers in their robes arrived.
Our next full branch event was Corporate Communion. This was also held at St Saviours St Albans on Monday 12th April. We had around 25 people which included members and guests. All members were invited to robe and so we had an impressive procession at the beginning of the service. The procession was lead in this year by me as one of the younger members of the Branch using the Verge given to Frank Lane on his retirement from St Albans Cathedral. At the service Frank’s wife Lynda was inducted as an Associate Member. After the service we had refreshments provided by my mum and Nonita Palmer. The date of this service was also my Philips birthday so, being forewarned, Nonita provided a cake with a candle as a surprise and everyone had a slice.
We were welcomed by Revd Canon Peter Palmer our chaplain for this evening of corporate communion.
At the end of the service Linda Lane was inducted into the Guild as an Associate member.
A small buffet at the end and a Birthday Cake to celebrate Philip's 52nd Birthday.
